“Estefer! Thank the maker that you are here because we need you like never before.” A woman said as she ran out of the darkness of the deepest part of this little slice of paradise and straight into my arms, breathing heavily as she'd clearly been running hard and was beyond happy at having found me. Or what she thought was me because I was not Estefer. I was David. David Paris-Hall and no one who could be mistaken for the kind of man that she needed as there was a definite sense of fear in her eyes as she collapsed in front of me.
“Ma'am! I said excitedly as I sat on the ground beside her not sure of what to do, let alone say as this was the kind of thing that never happened to me and should only happen in a story.
Slowly her breathing slowed to normal and after a few more minutes, she rose to her feet, weak and unsteady but more or less recovered from the exertion of some hard running as something had scared her greatly. And after a few more minutes, she looked at me again. “Please Estefer, you have to help us because you're the only one who can!”
