How long has the damn power been off?

And normally that's not a question I have to ask when the power's been off.

But after at least five hours, it becomes a question that demands an answer because this unheard of given the weather.

If it goes on much longer, the whole day's going to be wrecked.

Especially when I'm reduced to chundering out the words on my cell because I forgot the password on my laptop.

Of all the days to be down to just one device.

If I was writing just for me I'd be cussing up a storm right now.

Fine, I might as well be writing for myself eh?

No one's reading them.

But the words that I'm writing. now are still available for people to read.

And they weren't before.

That's the difference.

So no dropping of f-bombs for me.

Surely power will be restored before my phone runs out of its charge right?

The problem can't be that bad can it?

Well, I already knew that this week was going to end up being dinged because I ain't been writing hard enough.

I just didn't realize that Sunday was going to be affected to such a degree because I can't possibly one thumb my way to even two fields at this rate.

Granted, I started on the final hour of the quarter and not in the third which would have given me the time I needed to chunder out a decent harvest,  all things considered.

As it is 4 rows is about all I can expect to thumb up this morning.

The power will surely be restored by early afternoon.

I just can't drop into the life of Byron Prestwick.

I don't have the last bit of his life that I was writing for and this could conflict with that.

And it's so late in the morning I need the normal output of one thumbing it since I'm behind enough as it is.

At least I didn't lose out on the whole of the morning thanks the alarm being set for this time.

Yeah, I surely would have slept through the rest of the morning and taken the hit of a lost half.

As it is, needing to one thumb it is a pain in the butt.

Though truth be told I'm feeling actual pain somewhere else that is most unexpected.

Can this day get any worse?

Yes it can.

The charge on the cell runs out before power's restored and i'm unable to harvest even a field's worth.

I am not writing on paper because of a stupid power outage that should have been restored as soon as it went out.

There's no excuse for it going on this long.

Just as there's no excuse for the pain in my body.

At least I raced past the harvest I thought that I could manage as I have time and words enough to harvest half a field in less than an hour.

Not that much less though, but less is less.

Huzzah.

I can take me a bow now.

Not that I'm happy about having to thumb it across the cell's small keyboard instead of Desky's proper one.

Where's the power

Hydro- Quebec? It's long past the time that this loss should have been resolved and you know that!

And COVID has nothing to do with it!
