“Loving the Land
That sustains you well
Means never speaking ill of it”
That's what my programming tells me
So anything else
Is just plain wrong
But fortune favours your fellow people
That I am a robot
Without any arms
So I can scarcely impose my will
On the faithless ones
Who don't deserve
The Land's fair shelter”
He said again
As he said it at least but once
Each and every single day
And I was long past tired
Of hearing him say it

But it wasn't like
I could leave him no
As I was obliged to remain
And had to listen
To his daily rants
About the evils of those
Who had the freedom
Right as it is
To be a critic
Of what it does
Because that's just how
That it should be
In a good free land
That loves its people

Only
If I said this
But outright so
I sadly know
That the little FlagBot
Would surely sulk
That I think but freely
With a mind of my own

“You know me Flaggy
I'm not political
And I don't care
To go around
Sharing what I think
About what makes a Land
A good place to live
So once again
Can we not
But talk about something else
Like is that too much to ask but for”
I said as calmly as I could
Because I was fighting the urge
To be anything but calm
Because that's how tired I was
Of his stupid programming
That couldn't let him give it a rest
About political things

It was then that he stopped
And looked at me
Like I'd just sworn at him
As if not wanting
To talk about politics
Was an admission of guilt
Because surely all right thinkers
Thought the same thing
Which was in line of course
As it was
With his own programming
“You don't agree
With the good right thinking
He asked me with a tone in his voice
That suggested how I answered
Was of the utmost import
As he looked me in my eye
With a steely robot gaze

“Do you mind Flaggy
We still have a lot of distance to cover
And I don't have time
For a lengthy delay
So if we could get underway
Yes once but more
Because being late
Is not but something
That I can afford to do”
I said to him
Not wanting to answer
Because I knew
That he wouldn't like at all
The answer that I would give to him

“So answer me now
Foolish Backwards Cap
And if you answer me right
We'll continue on
With little delay
So you'll be okay
And not arrive late”
He said but drifting closer
Not about to give up
On hearing my answer
Which I didn't wan to give
But was being given no other choice
But to answer him
Even though
It shouldn't matter
If the Land was truly good
Then civil disagreements
Would be accepted with ease

“Well then Flaggy
This is where we part ways
Since I opt not to share with you
But much of myself
Because I have the right
To keep to myself
What I wish to keep
So thanks for keeping me company
Which was a lie of course
Because of how annoying it was
To be hearing his constant stream
Of political talk
That I found hard to hear
Since I didn't want to fight with him
