I can scarcely believe it
I'm in the midst of a dream
And I've yet to gain control
Of how it's unfolding
Or gained the power
That I should have
Since a dream is what it is
So where are my abilities
When I'm the kind of man
That would make good use
Of any I might be blessed
To so possess

And as I hung
Suspended from the tall thin tree
The wind picked up
And began to sway
Slowly at first
But moments later
I was swaying but wildly
And feared I'd fall
And even in a dream
Who wanted to fall
From any height at all
Especially a dangerous height like this

“No no no”
I cried out loud
As this was scary as feck
And I wanted to wake the heck up
And be back safely
In the safety of my prison

And hoping to make this happen
I closed my eyes tight
And took a deep breath
As I slowed my breathing
Hoping against hope
That I could force myself awake
Even though I was lashing out blindly
Because I didn't know what I was doing

It was then of course
That the rope but snapped
And I plunged to the ground below
Screaming no
All the way down
