I didn't know what to do. I wanted to shake the truth out of her but she was very certain of herself and laying my hands on her that violently was not what I wanted to do with a woman as appealing as her. And what if she was stronger than me and lost it? “Ma'am I'm not Estefer and I don't even know why I am here, in this strange little woods and I'm starting to wish that I wasn't.” I said as I wanted my stupid little life back, even if it meant returning to an apartment that was so very humid and nigh unbearable for too many months a year.
“You're not Estefer?” She said quietly, like she'd finally seen the light and knew that I was right about who I was and wasn't.
I sighed with relief. “No I'm not Estefer, as I said earlier. I'm David Paris-Hall, it's nice to meet you.” Smiling as I said the words while extending my hand for her to shake.
