I sit upon my throne
Tired of being alone
But how else can I be
When the act of poetry
Which I'll never surrender
Brings me here
This amazing station
In a distant place
Above a world
Home to a race
I've yet to meet
And disappearing from my life
When I'd have me a wife
No matter how understanding
That she would have to be
To be with me
The fullness of the truth
Or a series of lies
Is not a thing
I'd want to foist on anyone else
So alone is the path
That I must sadly take
No matter how but much
It makes me ache
Because I'm not the kind of man
To bear the burden
Of a double life
